About the Lab

Our lab studies a variety of topics within microbiology. One of these is the process of genetic exchange among bacteria, specifically focusing on the activities of phage-like elements called gene transfer agents (GTAs).

Another focus in the lab is wildlife microbiology, which includes the study of avian influenza viruses in wild birds, parvoviruses in mammals, and other microbes in various hosts.
